Programs & workshops

Hands in clay, minds at ease.

Three year-round programs from our base in Sülgoja, run by MTÜ AADE — a registered non-profit (Reg. 80346296). Sessions are free or at material cost, and every single one welcomes beginners.

Community Workshops

Our longest-running program. Weekly sessions in ceramics, drawing, painting and simple printmaking rotate through village halls and school rooms across Räpina parish. Groups are deliberately mixed — a grandparent next to a teenager next to a newcomer — because skill travels sideways in a room like that.

  • Weekly sessions, September to June, evenings and Saturdays
  • All materials, tools and firing included
  • Children’s groups (8+), adult groups and mixed-family days
  • 96% of sessions free; the rest at material cost only

Creative Wellbeing Sessions

Slow, structured making for people carrying stress, grief, burnout or loneliness. Run in closed groups of six with a local care worker present, these sessions are not therapy in the clinical sense — they are a quiet table, good material and no pressure to talk.

  • Closed groups of six, eight-week arcs
  • Run in cooperation with parish care workers
  • Always free of charge; referral or self-signup
  • No experience, no talking required — just come

Rural Exhibitions & Artist Support

Each season we turn a barn, library or village hall into a gallery — pairing work by South Estonian artists with pieces made in our own workshops. Participating artists get a venue, an audience and a small materials stipend; villages get an opening night worth walking to.

  • Three to four seasonal exhibitions per year
  • Workshop participants’ work always included
  • Free entry, free opening events, all ages
  • Visiting artists lead one public masterclass each
How to join

Three steps. No forms longer than a postcard.

Step 1

Write to us

Email info@aadearts.org with your name, your village and what you’d like to try. Estonian or English, both fine.

Step 2

We find your seat

Within a week we reply with the nearest group and the next open session. If a group is full, you go on the list for the next arc.

Step 3

Just show up

Come as you are. Aprons, clay, tools and tea are waiting. The first session is always free, always.
